“Burning Forest” was created during the week of the California wildfires, capturing the emotional contrast between the beauty of nature and how quickly that beauty can be changed.

The forest is normally a place filled with life. Animals moving between the trees, birds overhead, and an entire ecosystem existing quietly beyond what we can see. In this piece, that presence is gone. The absence of the forest’s usual guests creates an unsettling stillness, leaving behind a landscape that feels both alive and empty at the same time.

The intense reds and oranges of the fire contrast with the dark trees, mountains, and reflective water, creating beauty within a scene of destruction. That contradiction is intentional. Even in one of nature’s most devastating moments, there is something visually powerful about the landscape.
