“CHAOS” Original Painting

“CHAOS” is a self portrait created during one of the most mentally and emotionally exhausting periods of my life.

While I was in college, everything felt like it was happening at once. I was struggling with ongoing stomach health issues, carrying the weight of traumatic situations within my family, and facing financial problems that threatened my ability to continue school. There was no clear answer for what came next. My brother and I were left trying to navigate circumstances that felt much bigger than us while still attempting to move forward with our lives.

This painting became a visual representation of what I could not fully explain with words.

The explosive marks, tangled lines, distorted expression, and overwhelming color reflect what was happening inside my mind. Stress layered on top of fear. Anger on top of uncertainty. Exhaustion on top of the pressure to keep going. From the outside, life continued. Inside, everything felt like chaos.

But this piece is not only about reaching a breaking point. It is also about surviving one.

“CHAOS” represents the moments when life gives you more than you believe you can carry, yet somehow you continue carrying it until you find your way forward.

I did not have everything figured out when I created this painting. I was simply trying to make it through.

And sometimes, making it through is enough.
