“Clowns” Original Paintings

“Clowns” is an experimental pair of works created with spray paint and pastel, inspired by the expressive visual language of Olaolu Slawn’s work.

The two characters represent opposite emotional extremes. One is consumed by joy, energy, and optimism, while the other carries frustration, sadness, and emotional weight. Although they appear completely different, they are two sides of the same human experience.

We all have the potential to become either clown.

Some mornings we wake up feeling alive and grateful. Others, we wake up carrying emotions that make it difficult to see beyond what we are going through. “Clowns” explores the idea that while we cannot always control what we feel or what life places in front of us, we can decide what we allow those emotions to turn us into.

Every day gives us another opportunity to choose what we feed within ourselves, how we treat the people around us, and what kind of life we want to build.

“Clowns” is a reminder that happiness is not about feeling good every moment. It is about choosing, each day, to move toward the version of yourself that creates, loves, grows, and leaves something fruitful behind.
