“Pink Tree” Original Painting

“Pink Tree” began as a challenge. My girlfriend gave me three parameters to follow. It had to be a landscape, it had to include a large tree, and the entire painting could only consist of vertical lines.

What began as a set of limitations slowly became a world of its own.

The repetition of vertical lines transforms the landscape into something that feels caught between a dream and a memory. It feels unfamiliar, yet somehow recognizable, like a place you have visited before but cannot quite remember when.

At the center stands the pink tree.

To me, the tree represents refuge. A place you can return to when everything beyond it feels uncertain. The world around you may be shifting, changing, or even falling apart, but underneath the pink tree, none of that can reach you. For a moment, you are protected. You can breathe. You are safe.

“Pink Tree” is about finding peace within chaos and holding onto the places, people, and memories that make us feel grounded when the rest of the world does not.

Sometimes home is not a physical place.

Sometimes it is simply wherever you feel safe.
